Positivo is an event, time-bound to International AIDS Day – December 1st. Its purpose is to remind and to make the young aware of the possibility of AIDS infection. The site selection, the shopping centre Europark, plays an important role in the realisation, as it has a large number of visitors at this time. Many participants perform at the event, which contribute to its entirety in various ways. Each year, a young male or female artist creates an artistic depiction in front of the crowd (in 2009 it was the artist Dunja Ravnikar, in 2010 and 2011 the artist Marijan Mirt).
The other participants distribute condoms to passers-by, bulletins on AIDS and postcards, describing the purpose of the event. The passers-by also get a red bow. The site also offers the dance schools an opportunity for presentations, which additionally enrich the event. The response of the visitors, especially of the young, is always great. Through the years of organizing the project Positivo we have noticed that rejection of the promotion material has become less visible, public awareness of the date of World AIDS day is growing. We believe our project has contributed to this fact in a large scale, and this year it will be held for the tenth time.
